Practitioner’s Guide to Scottish Agricultural Rent Reviews
This is the first book on Scottish agricultural rent reviews since Frazer Barraclough (perhaps the only real predecessor) which was then followed by significant legal changes in 2003. It is a response to the Court of Session’s important rulings in Morrison-Low v Paterson and is also a response to the Scottish Government and Tenant Farming Forum’s Rent Review Working Group’s recommendation that there be guidance to practitioners.
Practitioner’s Guide to Scottish Agricultural Rent Reviews covers the initial necessary procedures, the basis of valuation and then disputes procedures. In doing this, it reviews the issues of comparables, budgets, scarcity, marriage value, tenants improvements with a range of illustrative examples for particular points and commentary on commonly met difficult cases.
