Damages (Scotland) Act 2011 (Greens Annotated Acts)
In July 2011 this important piece of legislation came into force and has influenced the way in which every personal injury solicitor works. Scots law now reflects much of the Scottish Law Commission's Report on Damages for Wrongful Death. The Commission had taken the view that the Damages (Scotland) Act 1976 had become over-complex and contained inaccuracies as a result of numerous amendments made over the years. The 2011 Act re-enacts much of the existing law but in a more logical and coherent way.
In this volume Professor Joe Thomson provides authoritative guidance through in-depth annotations of the Act. It also contains a copy of Part II of the administration of Justice Act 1982 enabling cross-reference between its recent changes and the annotations to the Damages Act 2011.
